Doctor and fake appointments: Risks for healthcare professionals and steps to prevent fraud
A scandal recently erupted in Ukraine when a metropolitan filling school web content gynecologist entered information about patient appointments that did not actually occur into the Helsi medical system. This case not only drew attention to the activities of medical professionals! but also emphasized the importance of following the rules for working with automated systems such as Helsi. The doctor was reported for suspicion under Part 1! Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine! which provides for liability for unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems.
Misuse of the Helsi system: how did it happen?
According to the investigation! the doctor created fake records of european union email list patient appointments in the Helsi system for two years. These actions led to the fact that information about consultations that did not actually take place appeared in the patients’ electronic offices. Patients began to pay attention to these inaccuracies and contacted the relevant authorities to clarify the circumstances. At least 22 episodes of creating fake records have been identified so far.
