On the nose, the characteristic sweetness of Panamanian rums is easily recognizable. The caramel is already very present. And there’s a lovely fruity note that already brings a lovely freshness to the aroma.
With a small opening, we enjoy the accessibility of this rum. There is a beautiful caramel aroma and we find notes of ethanol and spices that give character to the cask strength.
I thought it would have more fruit after opening. What I thought it would have on the first nose didn’t come. It remains a lovely treat, mainly caramel with notes of candied orange.
Like all rums from Panama there is not a great contrast in this rum
The mouth
On the palate, it’s oily and easy to drink. The esters are pungent, but not overly so, and delicately coat the palate. It’s the caramel that characterizes this rum, a baked caramel accompanied by notes of cocoa and coffee that reinforces the character of this rum. There’s a lovely sweetness, but it’s not that of sugar, but rather the character of a molasses rum.
It is a rum that is pleasant special lead on the palate, the esters are not exuberant, they leave room for the aromatic caramel to express itself.
The final
The finish is on a black pepper which gives a very pleasant little freshness to this finish.
Ideal tasting mode
This is an accessible the course provides intensive rum. It’s very pleasant to drink. Since it’s not overly complex, it’s a great accompaniment to a book or a good movie.
It will be excellent with a good dessert.
Value for money
This is a rum that offers good agb directory value for money. It’s a quality rum at over 46% ABV that hasn’t been chill-filtered. So, for me, it’s a very fair price.
