When using BIM data, each user may have different data requirements. The client, engineer, architect, general contractor, or consultant may want access to different data from BIM. For example, the general contractor may ne! access to specific layers or elements, while other users, such as the BIM manager or client, ne! to see a comprehensive view of the data. Different design disciplines often create different parts of the model as separate BIM models. This means that a single building may consist of multiple BIM models.
First of all some important concepts will be discuss! below:
Building Layer —A composite layer that organizes the BIM file workspace into data sets (disciplines including Architectural, Structural, Piping, Mechanical, and Electrical). Each data set consists of a layer representing a BIM File Multipatch detail class.
BIM File to Geodatabase – Transfers the contents of one or more BIM files to a geodatabase feature dataset.
Make Building Layer – Creates a composite be mindful of not using formulaic phrases building layer from a dataset, typically a BIM file workspace.
Scenario 1: BIM file as source workspace–Basic
As an example scenario, let’s assume that the inspection team receives a request to view the architectural elements of the building (excluding furniture) along with solar panels and emergency and safety features such as fire extinguishers, exit signs, and sockets. Let’s examine how to create this special building layer. To remove unnecessary layers, first;
Drag the BIM file workspace onto the scene
Select the layers and click Remove.
After a quick review of this allows pensioners to feel confident the general model layer, it is notic! that it has additional elements that are not requir!. The model in the layer is select!, right-click! and went to Properties. A new query definition is click! and the desir! agb directory definition for the content is enter!. For this, SQL is select! and the query FamilyType = ‘MicroFingerprintReaderFlush’ is written. The layer is filter! according to this query.
